Looking forward to meeting a few new people who have emailed with interest regarding our monthly gatherings this month. No doubt with Ians new filters, my new IR camera, numerous projects getting underway including some serious discussion regarding the direction of our own exhibition, (which should hopefully tour the local area in 2011) we’ll not be short of things to talk about on October 11th!

So 8pm at the Plough Inn, Station Road, Taunton… bring your pics along!

Thanks to everyone for a great turnout. Some really interesting photos again. From Light Painting/Grafitti/Strobism to Wildlife Photography, Glamour/Portraits and Event Photography. Also a couple of challenges laid down for the next meeting.

http://www.tauntonian.com – For those that want to give it a go, find yourself an old photo from this site or perhaps another source and go about recreating it. We can then perhaps put together a selection of Before and After shots of Taunton.

Well…. thats the March meet all done and dusted. Thanks to those who came along. A comparatively quiet month this time which was probably a good thing since the projector lead failure meant we all had to fit around a laptop! A cheerio was also said to Rich who will be taking his kit in the London direction for his new job. Take care… bring us back some pics soon!

TPG @ Focus on Imaging

Myself and Ian will be popping up to the NEC on Sunday for Focus on Imaging 2010. With any luck we should come home all leaflet and goody bagged up. I’m hoping Canon return my 5D to me before the day, wouldnt mind taking some pics for the site. (Too embarrassed to haul the 20D around all day)

Probably a little bit short on notice but if any one fancies a photography based day out…

Thanks to everyone who came along to the TPG meet for February. Its good to see we are keeping numbers consistent every month.

The club is obviously doing wonders for everyone as the amount of shots people bought along to open up to critique were fantastic. Lots of strobist work, wildlife shots, fantastic landscapes, an amazing dragonfly shot from one of our new members and dare I say it… droplets. I personally also found a great deal of excitement in Martin’s cut and shut Canon 20D/Kodak bellows camera.

Our next meeting will be on the 8th of March at our usual place… The Plough Inn, Station Road, Taunton.

The Taunton Photographic Group Website is now LIVE!!!

For now simply bringing you up to date information on the clubs meetings, outings and other goings on. As time goes on the site will become the online club hub where members can interact between meets, share images and take a more active role in the running of the club.

Check back regularly for updates. Our monthly meeting dates will always be confirmed on the site.

The January 2010 meet of the Taunton Photographic Club was a good evening with some very interesting conversation. So… just a quick one to say a big thank you to everyone who showed up for the first meet of 2010. It was good to meet you all and things look very exciting for the year ahead!

Next meeting will be Monday 8th February. Again at the Plough Inn, Station Road.

A note for those who haven’t come along yet and a reminder for those that have… Take plenty of shots of …absolutely anything between now and the 8th and get ready to open yourselves up to some friendly critique.
